Whoop Whoop. Just made a personal Webpage it’s super easy.

Prodded by my LSE department, I finally got round to creating a personal webpage this week. As well as an exercise in gross narcissism, it’s super helpful (for me) to have a single place to direct any enquiries, and remind myself (and perhaps others) about stuff I’ve done and forgotten – distant past, random interviews, papers I’ve co-authored but didn’t actually spend much time on etc. See what you think. I’d welcome any suggestions for improvements.

Shout out to my niece, Stella Cunliffe for the nice homepage pic, and helping me sort out a couple of glitches, but basically, I did it myself – it was really easy to put together, even for a techno-trogolodyte like me. Here’s the instructions for how to do it on Google, and the inevitable youtube explainer.

Knock yourselves out.

  1. Congrats. It looks great. I wonder if this is a better option than a LinkedIn profile. I must admit I’m a bit tired of social networks.

I became particularly interested in this: “Global Executive Leadership Initiative course on influencing, run by UNOPS and hosted by LSE, which since early 2022 has been training hand-picked groups of senior leaders at national level (UN, INGOs, Red Cross/Crescent and national NGOs)”. Any mote info on that?

There’s a link to the website in the text Athayde. We’re currently trying to fund another round of the course, so watch this space!

Honest answer? Because my university department at LSE said we should! But also, it saves a lot of time to have things I may refer people to all in one place. For younger academics, it is also a way to boost profile/get work, but I think it’s too late for me!
